Medgidia, pe la 1860

(1860: Medgidia, C. P. Peters)

“The large village or town of Megedia, situated about half-way between Rassova and Kustenjee, has been constructed within the last two years upon the site of the town of Karasu (which of late years had been abandoned) under the directions of the Turkish Government, for the accomodation of the Tatars who left the Crimea during the late war (1855), and are now colonised in the Dobrutcha. “
